Super sad news today… DJ AM found dead this morning in his New York City apartment at the age of 36. DJ AM is the same DJ that narrowly escaped death last year in South Carolina. DJ AM is the same dj that dated both Mandy Moore and Nicole Richie. DJ AM is the same DJ that was launched the video game DJ Hero… an event I covered and blogged about back in June.
AM last tweeted on Tuesday, August 25th at 1:57pm… his final tweet? “New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems.”
Super emo.
I’ve had the privilege to enjoy AM’s set live a couple of times… once at Pure in Vegas and once again at the DJ Hero event, where I also interviewed him. He was a really nice guy, super chill and easy to talk to. See for yourself below – the raw footage from my June 1st interview:
